We’re All About Sustaining The Good Beer Drinkers!
Alongside Brisbane's only 'Pour Your Own' system, our bigger and better venue has been fitted out with five 65" screens, where we will be showing all your favourite live sporting games and highlights - as well as weekly trivia! The second half of the venue makes for the ideal spot for any intimate gatherings, events or private functions!
After recently closing our beloved James Street location's doors (and taps), we are thrilled to bring an even better experience to our beer-thirsty customers. Our new and improved Tippler's Tap Southbank has a 200+ seated capacity, spacious craft beer hall and dining area, lively sports bar and 18 self-service taps to reduce wait times – plus seven traditional taps at the bar for those who prefer the old-fashioned way! While we embrace innovation, our focus will always be to provide the best craft beers in Australia. So you can continue to expect 100% quality and zero pretences at the new Tippler's Tap Southbank.
Even with people coming from far and wide to experience Tippler's Tap in Southbank, we were encountering some nostalgia about our old stomping grounds in Newstead. Some still hankered for the 'neighbourhood bar' feel of Masters Street. We listened to their feedback and started searching for the perfect spot for our second location. A "warm and friendly community hub", Tipplers Tap in James Street, Newstead, opened for business in June 2018.
With the relocation proving successful, our Southbank location was fast becoming a local favourite. We were now strutting our stuff in 'foodie-central' on Grey Street in South Brisbane. Here, Tippler's Tap really had its chance to shine. We garnered a mainstream following. Not just for our craft beers and great service but, of course — for our famous wings (we also have popular vegan/vegetarian options).
In December 2015, we relocated to a new venue in Southbank. Tippler's Tap was reborn in Brisbane's premier lifestyle and cultural destination. This was in the space previously occupied by our sister establishment, Tomahawk Bar. "The opportunity to open a restaurant at South Bank presented itself, and we felt that this would be an opportunity to showcase craft beer to a wider, more mainstream audience", said the owner at the time.
It turns out Tippler's Tap was definitely onto something with its winning formula of top-notch on-tap brews and classic Chicago-style eats in a laid-back atmosphere. Craft beer proved to be much more than a passing fad, with many people acquiring a taste for independent brews, described by some as a "leading light of the burgeoning Brisbane craft beer scene".
Some of you might remember our original location in Masters St. Newstead. Tippler's Tap first opened here in 2012, way back in the era of Gangnam Style and wedge sneakers. Tippler's Tap was one of those original pioneering craft beer bars that really changed things up!
We have an incredibly important mission at Tippler’s Tap. That’s to consistently bring the best variety of independent craft beer to the people. We take this pretty seriously. Our whole enterprise also centres around some super solid core values.
We hire talented workers who are enthusiastic about the craft beer industry. Many of our staff members have significant experience in various facets of craft beer production and have been fully immersed in the world of craft brewing. Professional and passionate, our team is sure to point you in the direction of your next favourite tipple!
Bid farewell to tedious bar queues thanks to our array of 18 self-service craft beer and cocktail taps. Equipped with the fully certified and RSA-compliant PourMyBeer system, you’ll have the freedom to explore and indulge in various flavours without delay – and only pay for what you pour!
The Pour My Beer self-service system may be new to Australia but not to the hospitality industry. With hundreds of systems installed in the US, it has been refined to ensure it provides a great product while complying with relevant Liquor Laws.
The system is a verified instrument under the National Measurement Act 1960, which is to say that the measurement of beer it dispenses is true and accurate. Additionally, under our Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), we implement many more measures to ensure our customers’ safety and well-being.
